CEO | Surfers Against Sewage
Hugo Tagholm is an environmental activist and for the last 10 years the Chief Executive of Surfers Against Sewage (SAS). Surfers Against Sewage is a national marine conservation and campaigning charity that inspires, unites and empowers communities to take action to protect oceans, beaches, waves and wildlife. The charity has recently been voted one of the top ten organisations working on plastic pollution globally. It is proud to represent over 350,000 regular supporters and collaborate with 50,000 volunteers annually. It recently campaigned for the UK-wide plastic bag charge, which has eliminated 9 billion plastic bags from the environment since being introduced. Its latest campaign victory has been for a UK deposit return scheme, which will stop billions of plastic bottles littering our oceans, countryside and streets. It is also on the cusp of making Parliament go plastic-free.
